Dr. phil. nat. Florian Buhr

CEO & Chief Scientific Officer

Dr. Buhr joined IMMUNEO in December 2024, initially leading its preclinical research activities. He was appointed Chief Scientific Officer (CSO) in January 2026 and additionally assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in September 2026. He currently holds both positions, overseeing the company’s scientific strategy, research programmes, and overall management. His expertise in mRNA biology, translation, and protein folding provides a strong scientific foundation for IMMUNEO’s approach to neoantigen prediction and validation.

Dr. Buhr earned his degree in Biochemistry and completed his PhD at Goethe University Frankfurt am Main, including research stays in San Francisco and London. He subsequently conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Cambridge, focusing on the molecular mechanisms underlying neurodegenerative diseases. Beyond his academic career, he brings experience in clinical diagnostics, scientific advisory work in oncology research, and award-winning university teaching.
